Hey Lemmies!

Just wanted to update everyone on some happenings in the Community Officer team.

Recently we have been trying some re-structuring to try and get things off the ground when it comes to promoting our Community as well as providing fun things for Lemmings.

With that there have been some Community Officer promotions.

Asphodel, Jingshen and Dommens have all joined the current Community Officers, myself, Chiani, Joesnow, Nienor, Garalia and Spitbeard.

We hope to bring you some exciting things, so keep a lookout for any events in game or on the webby. Also if you have any suggestions or anyithng you'd like to see then let us know :)

Dear Lemmings,

Our goal for the last part of this expansion is to progress into Hellfire Citadel on heroic difficulty and see how far we can get. Therefore the following will occur:

  • Hellfire Citadel on all levels is now free to pug. So you can get your mount. You can venture on your own, or make an event for more people to join. You can find what's normally free to pug here
  • Until the launch of legion, all the scheduled raids for Tuesday will be continuation runs on heroic difficulty starting where we left off the raid before or a fresh run, depending on the signups
  • The minimum item level requirement is raised to 695. This should be reachable with gear from Tanaan Jungle, Mythic dungeons and Hellfire Citadel normal gear
  • While you can pug Hellfire Citadel, we still ask you to come to our raids on Tuesday. No pug raid can beat the fun experience of Lemming raids!

As predicted we have currently hit a lull in the WoD expansion, with many people taking breaks from the game to try other games out, find it hard to find the willpower to log on because the boredom is setting in, and people just ticking over time until the expansion hits. This of course comes of no surprise and even mentioned it in my GM post. Its something that happens with every expansion before the next expansion hits.

We are at a point where most raids are getting cancelled and guild activity is at an all time low. Due to lack of signups on raids, we would find it increasingly difficult with the numbers we do get, to even consider any further raid partnership, so this is currently on hold. However, we still want to get raids going and still push out progression, but also find ways to keep people having fun while we plod our way through to the next expansion.

Officers have been discussing at length what solutions there are, but it is going to be difficult as we can't drag people into the game. We all feel that bit of a lull when boredom starts kicking in, and we just want the new content. That said, we want to maintain raiding as much as possible until the expansion hits, and also get some other social activities thrown into the mix. So, in a hope to get people signing up, including people that don't raid to often we would like to make a few changes too raiding schedules and how we raid. These will commence from February.

The changes we propose to raiding :-

Thursday raid nights will be cancelled and replaced with other social events (more below) so will be removed from the schedule from Febuary.

Sunday night will be a short 1 hour(ish) raid night which will reset every week and we encourage everyone to come along with OffSpec/Alts, or come along on your main if you haven't raided for a long time and want a way to get back into it. This raid will commence at the later time of 10PM CET (9PM UK) and will run for about an hour with no breaks. The only thing I ask is you get your alts/os registered on the HCIL so Asp doesn't have a meltdown when it comes to doing the raid line up.

Tuesday night will be a progression night where we are on a lockout so we can continue to work on the upper levels of HFC and try to get those latter bosses down as a guild and get the better loot that we are all seeking of the later bosses.

We will be throwing in some further events to replace the Thursdays, ideally to be inclusive and get some more social fun into the game, such as Mythic Dungeons, older content, Horde Nights. Your input for these evenings will also be invaluable, get on the calendar and get a group together for something you fancy doing and get some Lemmings to tag along with you, we are most likely just hanging around killing time in our garrison anyway, or hanging ourselves because we are pugging HFC LFR for the 300th time.

We will be making these changes starting in February and will review things after a couple of weeks to see what else we can do to keep the guild as active as we can during this period of quiet.

I do want to encourage people to sign up for events. A second nature thing is sometimes we look at an event and think oh there is not many people signed up so I'll go play something else on this night as its going to get cancelled. Yes, there is a chance it may be canceled but if 5-6 people think the same thing then guess what :)

Beyond the Thursdays, if you know you will be logging in on a certain evening but know you will be plodding round your alts just doing garrison stuff and wish there was some event on that evening, whack something in the calendar, you may be surprised who else is doing the same and wants to do something more fun. If you are unsure on anything throw a thread together and have a discussion, its what the website is for, get some banter going, an active website helps us all keep interested. I see a forum asking who wants to get together for the Warcraft movie.. lets get chatting about it, lets see if we want to go together, if we do lets find a suitable location and arrange it, this sis just an example of how we could be more active... but needs doing ;)

We will do all that we can as a leadership team to keep things ticking over and as fun as possible until the expansion hits, but we need your help to pull things off, and keep it that way whether you are an initiate, lemming, high lemming or officer your input and involvement is valuable.

Beyond events, I have some further discussions that will spring up over the next few days with the aim of getting further guild involvement. We know you love this guild as much as I do and with the involvement ideas it will give you as Lemmings to help guide the guild and make it an even better home as you will have a platform for your ideas, gripes or frustrations, and get that direct feedback that you need from the leadership panel.

Lets keep lemmings marching through the storm!

Dear Lemmings,

As you may have noticed, we have had a few new members joining us in Final Fantasy. Whilst we are still in the early stages of building the Free Company we are being a little more relaxed about how we recruit people.

We currently have adverts on Reddit and the official FF forums, as well as putting out shouts in game every so often.

We have mainly been receiving /tells in game and have been interviewing potential members using a set of questions as a guide. From this chat we then decide whether to invite or not. Once the person has been invited we then ask them to come to the site and fill out an application which then gets automatically accepted so they can see and sign up for events.

We have also had some applications straight to the site which have been left for comment, someone will then seek out the person and have a further chat with them and then decide whether they will be invited or not. All new members are subject to a strict 1 month trial period after which they are either promoted to Lemming or asked to leave.

Whilst we are aware that this is not how things are normally done, we do feel that in these early days we must be somewhat flexible if we are to build up a decent and regular player base in Final Fantasy.

Once we feel that we are at a place where things are going smoothly and we have a few regulars which we are able to play the game with, we will change the process to be in line with how we recruit for WoW, so all new applicants will need to fill out an app on the site before we will invite them, and that will be subject to the comments on the apps and any further chats had with them.

We hope that this helps to clear up some questions with reference to what’s been happening. If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to comment or contact one of the FF Officers.
